Highlights of the 503rd Vardhanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya commemorated at 5252 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA-92503 on 25 March 2006 (Saturday) from 4pm to 8pm.
SVASA organized the devotional services commemorating the 503rd Vardhanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya in Riverside, CA More than two Hundred devotees attended the devotional services.

      

                                    Uregimpu (Procession) and Aavaahanam

The Vardhanthi commemoration began @ 4pm with the Uregimpu of Annmayya and Sri Venkateswara with Padmavathi Ammavaru while the devotees sang the Annamayya Pancharatnamala. The Avahanam was marked with the Gurudeva Prarthana and the Sankeerthana recital followed a brief introductory speech by the President of SVASA on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya & his works.

The vocalists Smt. Meena Ramachandruni, and Smt. Annapurna Duvvuri were ably supported on violin by Sri Drinivas Palaka (Kansas) and Sri Murali P. Vasudevan and by Sri Dhamodaran Srinivasan on Mridangam.  Introduction and the commentary were provided by Satya Duvvuri, president of SVASA.  Following the Sankeertana recital, a new book and a new CD were released by SVASA.  The new book "Annamacharya Sankeerthana Panchashathi" with 500 Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya was published by SVASA.  The new CD was also produced by SVASA containing 10 rare compositions of Annamacharya rendered by Sri Garimella Balakrishna Prasad.  The Sankeerthana Book and CD were produced exclusively for the devotees in the United States of America and were both well received by the devotees.

This program was well received by the devotees.  The program concluded with the Mangalasasanam to Sri Venkateswara.  Prasadam was served after the Mangalasasanam.
