Highlights of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya 607th Jayanthi Festival

Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America commemorated the 607th Jayanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya during 3-9 May 2015
at the SVASA premises; Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Riverside; The Sanathan Dharma Mandir, Norwalk, CA; and  at the Fresno Hindu Temple, 7699 E. Alluvial Ave, Clovis, CA

The commemoration festival resumed on 3 October at 7am at the Fresno Hindu Temple in Fresno with Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham followed by Sri Venkateswara Namocharana, The festival continued with devotees singing Gurudeva Prardhana (Sreemathvadeeya) followed by Uregimpu and Nagara Sankeerthanam.   Later the devotees gathered at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and honored Annamacharya by singing numerous Sankeerthanas. The president of the organization, briefly presented the outline of day's events and an introduction on Annamcharya, his life and works before starting Srivari Kalyanothsavam.
This was followed by the performance of Kalyanothsavam with steps (Ghattams) Snathakam, Rakhsa Bandhanam, Kanya Daanam, Jeelakara Bellam, Mangala Suthra Dharanam and Talambralu etc.  As the priests conducted and explained the religious and social significance of each step of the Kalyanam (wedding), Satya Duvvuri presented the matching Annamacharya composition explaining the meaning and significance and the musicians laced it with their melodious renderings.  Such a punctuation of ceremony with music enthralled one and all, thus creating a harmony that will benefit the entire world with peace and everlasting happiness.  The appeal was magical to all the devotees who participated in the Sannkeerthana Kalyanothsavam. Their thoughts were uplifted to a completely transformed level of consciousness.  One of the devotees commented "Devotees expressed their hearts out because befittingly Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America is the first organization to perform this kind of Kalyanothsavam with Sankeerthanas  in 2011which was never before done by anywhere other than the organization itself on 21 May 2011 in Carson, CA, and continuing it annually thereafter.  Needless to say, in today’s challenging times, we need such programs that commemorate the great Saints works in a manner to bring awareness of devotional quality in the community, and SVASA did an absolutely terrific job in delivering the message for the past two decades in United States!" and now the Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam has been performed in Fresno Hindu Temple by SVASA.
"Mangala Harathi" and Naivedyam was offered at 2pm.  Prasadam was served to the devotees after the Kalyanothsavam.  About three hundred devotees participated in the religious service.

May the blessing of Sri Venkateswara and Annamacharya be always there with all those participated in this unique religious event.
