Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America organized the Annamacharya Sankeerthanas recital devotional event “Sankeerthana Recital” at the Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple, Torrance, CA. This is an annual event to encourage youngsters who are the torch bearers to carry on the tradition of Annamacharya works.. Following are the details of the religious service:
Date: Saturday, 19th October 2024 Time: 3pm to 7pm PST
This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 50 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya . This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The devotees at both places were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The founder of SVASA provided the introduction on Annamacharya. The Founder also provided opportunity to a few of the youngsters to facilitate the religious events at both places. The events at both places were both devotional and educational for the youngsters. Mangala Haarathi was offered to deities after the Sankeerthana recitals and Prasadam distribution followed the Haarathi.Namo Venkatesaya! 2024-Aug-25 Sankeerthana Goshti On the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America (SVASA), conducted a goshTi event on 25th August 2024 from 2pm to 5pm PST. The GoshTi was conducted through virtually directed towards the adults in particular. The GoshTi, headed by the founder of the organization, is an interactive event designed as an educational tool to understand the literature of the Sankeerthanas and thereby derive the true value of Annamacharya works. Sri. Satya Duvvuri garu lead the discussion with the participating devotees on meaning and hidden value of few Annamacharya Sankeerthanas on Lord Sri Krishna. The motive behind the GoshTi is that the adults can take home the values of the Sankeerthanas and share with their younger ones at home so that the whole family can further discuss and treasure the valuable Sankeerthanas for years to come. Each family can adopt their own Sankeerthanas and sing them everyday with full understanding of the values.The GoshTi started at 2pm PST. The devotees recited “Mangalamu Govindunaku” to conclude the event. 2024-May-25th 616th Jayanthi Festival of Sri Tallapaka AnnamacharyaSri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America celebrated the 616th Jayanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya during May 17th through 25th 2023.The Jayanthi festival started on 17th May at SVASA founder’s place in Riverside, CA and concluded with Sri Venkateswara Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on May 25th at Sanathan Dharma Mandir, 15311 Pioneer Blvd, Norwalk, CA 90950, USA. This year marks the 35th year in a row that the organization commemorated Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya Jayanthi.The Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on 25th May started with Deeparadhana chanting Sri Venkateswara Namocharana, Gurudeva Prardhana (SreeMathvadeeya), Srivari Prathama Darsanam, and Melukolupu Sankeerthanam followed by recital of Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham. Immediately after that the volunteer devotees recited Guru Sthuthi Sankeerthanam on Annamacharya, honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on his 616th Jayanthi Festival. The founder of the organization presented a brief gist on the life and works of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. Later the Devotees participated in Swamivari Uregimpu (procession around the temple) with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital and Govinda nama smaranam with utmost devotion and joy.Annamacharya composed scores of Kalyanothsavam Sankeerthanas, and it is believed that Annamacharya used to recite these Sankeerthanas while performing the Sri Venkateswara Kalyanam. This year also, SVASA continued the tradition introduced by the organization in 2011, of performing Sri Venkateswara Kalyanam with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital at each Ghattam of the Kalyanothsavam, to enable devotees, imagine the Kalyanothsavam performed by Annamacharya 600 years ago. This year marks 16th of these Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavams performed by the organization. At the end of the Kalyanothsam, Mahanaivedyam and Mangala Harathi were offered to the Deities followed by Thirtham and Prasadam to the devotees participating in person at the Sanatan Dharma temple.More than 500 devotees participated in the Kalyanothsavam in person at the Sanatan Dharma temple and about 50 devotees from all over the world via live streaming.After completion of serving the Prasadam to the devotees, Vuyyala (Unjal) seva was performed in the evening to Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy and his consorts. 521st Vardhanthi Commemoration of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya (6th April 2024) SVASA team conducted the Annamacharya's 521st Vardhanthi commemoration service at Sri. Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, 9292 Magnolia Ave, Riverside,CA. The Vardhanthi commemoration began @3pm PST with the recital of Gurudeva Prarthana “Sreemathvadeeya”. Sankeerthana recital followed by a brief introductory speech by the President of SVASA and followed by Satya Duvvuri garu on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya & his works. Sankeerthana recital began with “Dinamu Dwadasi Nedu” followed by the recital of four Sankeerthanas on Annamacharya by the devotees. About 70 devotees participated in the Sankeerthana recital and rendered 43 Sankeerthanas mostly in groups. Sankeerthanas were rendered by children for the first hour. The core Sankeerthanas of SVASA were rendered led by Smt. Annapurna Duvvuri, Priya Tatta,Subhadra Rani, Vani Ivaturi, Vasanth Tatta, Rangaraya Sarma and others. This devotional event has been focused to encourage the participation of children along with the seasoned singers in honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on the 521st year of his Vardhanthi. Incidentally this is the 34th year in a row that the organization commemorated Annamacharya’s Vardhanthi religious service honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. Fourty three Sankeerthanas were recited over 5 hours. Introduction and an apt commentary to the Sankeerthanas were provided by Satya Duvvuri garu of SVASA to benefit the participants understand the meaning and context of the Sankeerthanas. Mangalamu Govindunaku was recited by the group as the Mangalam Sankeerthana. This devotional service was well received by the devotees. The service concluded with the Mangalasasanam to Sri Venkateswara and Maha Naivedyam and Arathi.

This year marks 16th of these Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavams performed by the organization. At the end of the Kalyanothsam, Mahanaivedyam and Mangala Harathi were offered to the Deities followed by Thirtham and Prasadam to the devotees participating in person at the Sanatan Dharma temple. The motive behind the GoshTi is that the adults can take home the values of the Sankeerthanas and share with their younger ones at home so that the whole family can further discuss and treasure the valuable Sankeerthanas for years to come. Each family can adopt their own Sankeerthanas and sing them everyday with full understanding of the values.The GoshTi started at 2pm PST on Feb 11 2023. This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 40 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya . This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. 614th Jayanthi Festival of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on May 21st 2022Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America celebrated the 614th Jayanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya during 15-21 May 2022.The Jayanthi festival started on 15th May at SVASA founder’s place in Riverside, CA and concluded with Sri Venkateswara Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on May 21st at Sanatan Dharma Temple, Norwalk, CA, USA. This year marks the 33rd year in a row that the organization commemorated Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya Jayanthi.
The Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on 21 May started with Deeparadhana chanting Sri Venkateswara Namocharana, Gurudeva Prardhana (SreeMathvadeeya), Srivari Prathama Darsanam, and Melukolupu Sankeerthanam followed by recital of Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham. Immediately after that the volunteer devotees recited Guru Sthuthi Sankeerthanam on Annamacharya, honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on his 614th Jayanthi Festival. The founder of the organization presented a brief gist on the life and works of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya.
Later the Devotees participated in Swamivari Uregimpu (procession around the temple) with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital and Govinda nama smaranam with utmost devotion and joy.
Annamacharya composed scores of Kalyanothsavam Sankeerthanas, and it is believed that Annamacharya used to recite these Sankeerthanas while performing the Sri Venkateswara Kalyanam. SVASA Gosthi Program on Dec 18th 2021Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America, as part of its Education and Program Committee curriculum conducted Annamacharya Sankeerthana GoshTi on 18 December 2021 starting at 1pm PST. This event was focused on the adult devotees but accommodated interested young devotees. The purpose of the GoshTi is to understand the absolute meaning of the Annamacharya Sankeerthana by spiritual sharing of thoughts on the Sankeerthana among the devotees present at the event.“Nitya Poojalivivo” Sankeerthana was the topic of the event.The founder of the organization provided introduction on the Sankeerthana. The devotees then recited the Sankeerthana by parts, first Pallavi and then the charanams. After each part of the recital, the founder provided the meaning, the context, and the value of each part and then on the overall Sankeerthana. Then the devotees shared their thoughts on the Sankeerthana.The essence of the Sankeerthana is that everything we do in our day to day life should be treated as worship to God and act accordingly.About 30 devotees participated in the event.Srinivaso Rakshathu.

HighlightsDue to COVID 19 conditions, following CDC guidelines, SVASA team conducted the Annamacharya Vardhanthi commemoration service virtually through Zoom. The Vardhanthi commemoration began @2pm PST with the recital of Gurudeva Prarthana “Sreemathvadeeya”. Sankeerthana recital followed by a brief introductory speech by the President of SVASA and followed by Satya Duvvuri garu on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya & his works. Sankeerthana recital began with “Dinamu Dwadasi Nedu” followed by the recital of four Sankeerthanas on Annamacharya by the devotees. About 70 families from all over United States and India participated in the Sankeerthana recital and rendered 65 Sankeerthanas mostly in groups. Sankeerthanas were rendered by children for the first hour. The core Sankeerthanas of SVASA were rendered led by Smt. Annapurna Duvvuri, Priya Tatta,Subhadra Rani, Vani Ivaturi, Vasanth Tatta, Rangaraya Sarma and others. This devotional event has been focused to encourage the participation of children along with the seasoned singers in honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on the 518th year of his Vardhanthi. Incidentally this is the 30th year in a row that the organization commemorated Annamacharya’s Vardhanthi religious service honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. Sixty five Sankeerthanas were recited over 6 hours. Introduction and an apt commentary to the Sankeerthanas were provided by Satya Duvvuri garu of SVASA to benefit the participants understand the meaning and context of the Sankeerthanas.
Mangalamu Govindunaku was recited by the group as the Mangalam Sankeerthana. This devotional service was well received by the devotees. The service concluded with the Mangalasasanam to Sri Venkateswara and Maha Naivedyam and Arathi.

This was a religious event organized by SVASA exclusively for the youngsters, to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth, who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. Over 33 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing and explain as many Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya. This was a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The devotees, at the event held virtually, were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The chairman of SVASA provided the introduction and started the program with a special mention to (Keerthiseshulu) Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu, who worked tirelessly on Annamacharya project and preceded over various activities involving promotion of Sri Annamacharya and his works. SVASA dedicates this program to the stalwart Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu. The chairman of SVASA also provided the introduction on Annamacharya and commentary for the Sankeerthanas that followed. He also provided the opportunity to a few of the youngsters to organize the religious event and provided the necessary inputs on Annamacharya Sankeerthanas value base to the youngsters by sharing with them, his experiences, on Annamacharya works in an educational format and by explaining to them the meaning of the Sankeerthanas.

The Gosti started with Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeeya”. Satya Duvvuri continued the Gosti with an introduction on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, his life and works. He also provided the valuable information about the origin of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas revival in the 20th century, and the people involved in bringing the Sankeerthanas to light in the mid 20th century. The participants of the Gosti recited the Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya and Satya Duvvuri narrated the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. This spiritual event accommodated a detailed discussion and emphasized the value and importance of reciting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. By the nature of this event, only a few Sankeerthanas were recited in a span of 2 hours to accommodate for the detailed discussion on the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalam. 2016-Nov-12-Sankirtana Yajnam 2016 of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya A Sankirtana Yajnam was performed in the premises of SVASA on 12 November 2016 from 8:30am to 7pm. This is an annual event to encourage youngsters who are the torch bearers to carry on the tradition of Annamacharya works.. Following are the details of the religious service: Date: Sunday, 22 October 2016 Time: 3pm to 8pm (CA) and 5pm to 8pm (TX) This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 50 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya (California), and 12 youngsters and 24 Sankeerthanas (Texas). This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The devotees at both places were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The president of SVASA provided the introduction on Annamacharya in person for California participants and thru Facetime for Texas participants. The president provided commentary for the Sankeerthanas that followed for California participants. SVASA representatives in McKinney, Texas organized the event in Texas. The President also provided opportunity to a few of the youngsters to facilitate the religious events at both places. The events at both places were both devotional and educational for the youngsters. Mangala Haarathi was offered to deities after the Sankeerthana recitals and Prasadam distribution followed the Haarathi. Sri Sarma graciously supported on Tabla for the young artists. Vikas Munukutla, the young classical music artist from Southland, stood out as role model for the youngsters providing the narration on the musical values of the Sankeerthanas. He also rendered a couple of Annamachrya Sankeerthanas composed by his Guru Sri Nedunuri. Mangala Haarathi was offered to deities after the Sankeerthana recital and Prasadam distribution followed the Haarathi. A Sankirtana Gosthi was performed by Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America on 9 December 2012 from 2pm to 5pm at the 2050 Anza Ave., Torrance, CA-90503 to have a spiritual discourse and group discussions on the life and works of Annamacharya. Prior to the Gosti the devotees participated in a cultural “Vanabhojanam” to mark the holy month of Kartheeka. The Gosti started with the recital of Sri Venkateswara Ashtothara Namarchanam and followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeeya”. Satya Duvvuri continued the Gosti with an introduction on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, his life and works. He also provided the valuable information about the origin of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas revival in the 20th century, and the people involved in bringing the Sankeerthanas to light in the mid 20th century. The participants of the Gosti recited the Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya and Satya Duvvuri narrated the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. This spiritual event accommodated a detailed discussion and emphasized the value and importance of reciting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. By the nature of this event, only a few Sankeerthanas were recited in a span of 3 hours to accommodate for the detailed discussion on the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalam.

A Sankirtana Gosthi was performed by Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America on 9 October 2010 from 4pm to 7pm at the 62 Peony, Irvine, CA to have a spiritual discourse and group discussions on the life and works of Annamacharya. More than 30 people participated in the Gosti including some school children under age 12. This event was sponsored by the interested participant group of residents in Torrance and Irvine who were keen to learn more about the Sankeerthanas in a casual set up so that each of them could freely participate in the discussions. Also they wanted to give their children an exposure to the Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi began at 6pm with the chanting of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” for seven times followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeya” on Annamacharya. Satya Duvvuri, president of the organization, presented a discourse on Annamacharya and his works for about 30 minutes. The participants including the children recited about fifteen Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya. Satya Duvvuri narrated the the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. He responded to questions from the participants that helped them learn more about the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam at 8pm. One Hundred eight (108) Sankirtanas of Annamacharya were sung by a single devotee. Other devotees accompanied in some of the Sankirtanas. The Yajnam began at 11am with the chanting of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” for seven times followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeya” on Annamacharya. Then four Sakirthanas on Annamcharya were sung before singing the 108 Sankirthanas of Annamacharya. The Yajnam concluded with Managala Harathi and Naivedyam at 7:15pm. Thereafter, Prasadam was served to the devotees.

This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 40 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya . This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The GoshTi was conducted both in person and virtually directed towards the adults in particular. The GoshTi, headed by the founder of the organization, is an interactive event designed as an educational tool to understand the literature of the Sankeerthanas and thereby derive the true value of Annamacharya works. The motive behind the GoshTi is that the adults can take home the values of the Sankeerthanas and share with their younger ones at home so that the whole family can further discuss and treasure the valuable Sankeerthanas for years to come. Each family can adopt their own Sankeerthanas and sing them everyday with full understanding of the values.The GoshTi started at 2pm PST on Jul 23 2022. The GoshTi started with the recital of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sreemathvadeeya” on Annamacharya. 614th Jayanthi Festival of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on May 21st 2022Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America celebrated the 614th Jayanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya during 15-21 May 2022.The Jayanthi festival started on 15th May at SVASA founder’s place in Riverside, CA and concluded with Sri Venkateswara Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on May 21st at Sanatan Dharma Temple, Norwalk, CA, USA. This year marks the 33rd year in a row that the organization commemorated Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya Jayanthi.
The Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on 21 May started with Deeparadhana chanting Sri Venkateswara Namocharana, Gurudeva Prardhana (SreeMathvadeeya), Srivari Prathama Darsanam, and Melukolupu Sankeerthanam followed by recital of Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham. Immediately after that the volunteer devotees recited Guru Sthuthi Sankeerthanam on Annamacharya, honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on his 614th Jayanthi Festival. The founder of the organization presented a brief gist on the life and works of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya.
Later the Devotees participated in Swamivari Uregimpu (procession around the temple) with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital and Govinda nama smaranam with utmost devotion and joy.
Annamacharya composed scores of Kalyanothsavam Sankeerthanas, and it is believed that Annamacharya used to recite these Sankeerthanas while performing the Sri Venkateswara Kalyanam. This year also, SVASA continued the tradition introduced by the organization in 2011, of performing Sri Venkateswara Kalyanam with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital at each Ghattam of the Kalyanothsavam, to enable devotees, imagine the Kalyanothsavam performed by Annamacharya 600 years ago. This year marks 15th of these Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavams performed by the organization. At the end of the Kalyanothsam, Mahanaivedyam and Mangala Harathi were offered to the Deities followed by Thirtham and Prasadam to the devotees participating in person at the Sanatan Dharma temple.
More than 300 devotees participated in the Kalyanothsavam in person at the Sanatan Dharma temple and about 400 devotees from all over the world via live streaming.
After completion of serving the Prasadam to the devotees, Vuyyala (Unjal) seva was performed in the evening to Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy and his consorts.
SVASA Gurukulam Program on Feb 12th & 19th 2022A Gurukulam event on Annamacharya Sankeerthanas was conducted on 12th & 19th February 2022 from 2pm to 3:30pm PST. The gurukulam event was conducted both in person and virtually directed towards children in particular. The gurukulam event, headed by the founder of the organization, is an interactive event designed as an educational tool to understand the literature of the Sankeerthanas and thereby derive the true value of Annamacharya works. SVASA Gosthi Program on Dec 18th 2021Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America, as part of its Education and Program Committee curriculum conducted Annamacharya Sankeerthana GoshTi on 18 December 2021 starting at 1pm PST. This event was focused on the adult devotees but accommodated interested young devotees. The purpose of the GoshTi is to understand the absolute meaning of the Annamacharya Sankeerthana by spiritual sharing of thoughts on the Sankeerthana among the devotees present at the event.“Nitya Poojalivivo” Sankeerthana was the topic of the event.The founder of the organization provided introduction on the Sankeerthana. The devotees then recited the Sankeerthana by parts, first Pallavi and then the charanams. After each part of the recital, the founder provided the meaning, the context, and the value of each part and then on the overall Sankeerthana. Then the devotees shared their thoughts on the Sankeerthana.The essence of the Sankeerthana is that everything we do in our day to day life should be treated as worship to God and act accordingly.About 30 devotees participated in the event.Srinivaso Rakshathu.

613th Jayanthi Festival of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on May 29th 2021Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America commemorated the 613th Jayanthi of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya during 24-29 May 2021 & at SVASA premises, Riverside CA, USA with Devotees participation online thru Zoom Webinar.This year is the 32nd year in a row that the organization commemorated the Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya Jayanthi. The Jayanthi Commemoration Festival started on 24 May at in the organization’s premises in Riverside with Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham followed by Sri Venkateswara Namocharana, Gurudeva Prardhana (SreeMathvadeeya), and Guru Sthuthi Sankeerthanam.
The festival concluded with Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on 29 th May at SVASA premise, Reverside, California, which was telecast live via Zoom webinar. Around 700 Devotees have participated in the Kalyanothsavam via the Zoom webinar.

The Kalyanothsavam began with Gurudeva Prarthana and concluded with Mangala Harathi and Naivedyam to the Deities.

HighlightsDue to COVID 19 conditions, following CDC guidelines, SVASA team conducted the Annamacharya Vardhanthi commemoration service virtually through Zoom. The Vardhanthi commemoration began @2pm PST with the recital of Gurudeva Prarthana “Sreemathvadeeya”. Sankeerthana recital followed by a brief introductory speech by the President of SVASA and followed by Satya Duvvuri garu on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya & his works. Sankeerthana recital began with “Dinamu Dwadasi Nedu” followed by the recital of four Sankeerthanas on Annamacharya by the devotees. About 70 families from all over United States and India participated in the Sankeerthana recital and rendered 65 Sankeerthanas mostly in groups. Sankeerthanas were rendered by children for the first hour. The core Sankeerthanas of SVASA were rendered led by Smt. Annapurna Duvvuri, Priya Tatta,Subhadra Rani, Vani Ivaturi, Vasanth Tatta, Rangaraya Sarma and others. This devotional event has been focused to encourage the participation of children along with the seasoned singers in honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya on the 518th year of his Vardhanthi. Incidentally this is the 30th year in a row that the organization commemorated Annamacharya’s Vardhanthi religious service honoring Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. Sixty five Sankeerthanas were recited over 6 hours. Introduction and an apt commentary to the Sankeerthanas were provided by Satya Duvvuri garu of SVASA to benefit the participants understand the meaning and context of the Sankeerthanas.
Mangalamu Govindunaku was recited by the group as the Mangalam Sankeerthana. This devotional service was well received by the devotees. The service concluded with the Mangalasasanam to Sri Venkateswara and Maha Naivedyam and Arathi.

SANKEERTHANA RECITAL And Gosti (Spiritual discussion on the Sankeerthanas)

The devotees, at the event held virtually, were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The chairman of SVASA provided the introduction and started the program with a special mention to (Keerthiseshulu) Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu, who worked tirelessly on Annamacharya project and preceded over various activities involving promotion of Sri Annamacharya and his works. SVASA dedicates this program to the stalwart Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu. The chairman of SVASA also provided the introduction on Annamacharya and commentary for the Sankeerthanas that followed. He also provided the opportunity to a few of the youngsters to organize the religious event and provided the necessary inputs on Annamacharya Sankeerthanas value base to the youngsters by sharing with them, his experiences, on Annamacharya works in an educational format and by explaining to them the meaning of the Sankeerthanas.

The festival concluded with Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam on 9 th May at Surya Hindu Temple in Irvine, which was telecast live via Zoom webinar. Around 700 Devotees have participated in the Kalyanothsavam via the Zoom webinar.
Annamacharya composed scores of Kalyanothsavam Sankeerthanas and it is believed that Annamacharya used to recite these Sankeerthanas while performing the Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyanam. SVASA continued the tradition introduced by SVASA in 2011, of performing Kalyanothsavam with Annamacharya Sankeerthana recital at each Ghattam of the Kalyanothsavam, in an attempt to enable devotees imagine the Kalyanothsavam performed by Annamacharya 600 years ago. Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America performed the Sri Venkateswara Sankeerthana Kalyanothsavam during the Jayanthi festival with recital of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas at each Ghattam (Step) of the Kalyanothsavam. The Kalyanothsavam began with Gurudeva Prarthana and concluded with Mangala Harathi and Naivedyam to the Deities.

The Gosti started with Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeeya”. Satya Duvvuri continued the Gosti with an introduction on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, his life and works. He also provided the valuable information about the origin of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas revival in the 20th century, and the people involved in bringing the Sankeerthanas to light in the mid 20th century. The participants of the Gosti recited the Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya and Satya Duvvuri narrated the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. This spiritual event accommodated a detailed discussion and emphasized the value and importance of reciting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. By the nature of this event, only a few Sankeerthanas were recited in a span of 2 hours to accommodate for the detailed discussion on the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalam. 2016-Nov-12-Sankirtana Yajnam 2016 of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya A Sankirtana Yajnam was performed in the premises of SVASA on 12 November 2016 from 8:30am to 7pm. This is an annual event to encourage youngsters who are the torch bearers to carry on the tradition of Annamacharya works.. Following are the details of the religious service: Date: Sunday, 22 October 2016 Time: 3pm to 8pm (CA) and 5pm to 8pm (TX) This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 50 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya (California), and 12 youngsters and 24 Sankeerthanas (Texas). This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The devotees at both places were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The president of SVASA provided the introduction on Annamacharya in person for California participants and thru Facetime for Texas participants. The president provided commentary for the Sankeerthanas that followed for California participants. SVASA representatives in McKinney, Texas organized the event in Texas. The President also provided opportunity to a few of the youngsters to facilitate the religious events at both places. The events at both places were both devotional and educational for the youngsters. Mangala Haarathi was offered to deities after the Sankeerthana recitals and Prasadam distribution followed the Haarathi. Following are the details of the religious service: Date: Sunday, 13 September 2015 Time: 2pm to 8pm This is a religious program organized by SVASA exclusively for the Under-16 youngsters to promote the awareness of Annamacharya’s works in the youth who will be the torch bearers for the community to sing, preserve, and protect Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The platform was also used to bring awareness in the youngsters of the Sankeerthanas value base. Over 50 youngsters to include boys and girls participated to sing as many as forty five Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya. This is a well attended and very well received devotional service for SVASA. The devotees at the temple were thoroughly enthralled by the content of this devotional service. During the Sankeerthana recital, the whole environment was filled with unbounded joy. The event started with the usual Gurudeva Prardhana “Sri Mathvadeeya Charithamrithamannayaarya”. The president of SVASA provided the introduction on Annamacharya and commentary for the Sankeerthanas that followed. He also provided opportunity to a few of the youngsters to organize the religious event. Former director of Annamacharya Project Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu provided the Annamacharya Sankeerthanas value base to the youngsters by sharing with them his experiences on Annamacharya works in an educational format. Sri Sarma graciously supported on Tabla for the young artists. Vikas Munukutla, the young classical music artist from Southland, stood out as role model for the youngsters providing the narration on the musical values of the Sankeerthanas. He also rendered a couple of Annamachrya Sankeerthanas composed by his Guru Sri Nedunuri. Mangala Haarathi was offered to deities after the Sankeerthana recital and Prasadam distribution followed the Haarathi. A Sankirtana Gosthi was performed by Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America on 9 December 2012 from 2pm to 5pm at the 2050 Anza Ave., Torrance, CA-90503 to have a spiritual discourse and group discussions on the life and works of Annamacharya. Prior to the Gosti the devotees participated in a cultural “Vanabhojanam” to mark the holy month of Kartheeka. The Gosti started with the recital of Sri Venkateswara Ashtothara Namarchanam and followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeeya”. Satya Duvvuri continued the Gosti with an introduction on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, his life and works. He also provided the valuable information about the origin of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas revival in the 20th century, and the people involved in bringing the Sankeerthanas to light in the mid 20th century. The participants of the Gosti recited the Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya and Satya Duvvuri narrated the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. This spiritual event accommodated a detailed discussion and emphasized the value and importance of reciting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. By the nature of this event, only a few Sankeerthanas were recited in a span of 3 hours to accommodate for the detailed discussion on the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalam.

A Sankirtana Gosthi was performed by Sri Venkateswara Annamacharya Society of America on 13 November 2011 from 2pm to 5pm at the Mandir, Irvine, CA to have a spiritual discourse and group discussions on the life and works of Annamacharya. The Gosti started with the recital of Sri Venkateswara Ashtothara Namarchanam and followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeeya”. Satya Duvvuri continued the Gosti with an introduction on Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, his life and works. He also provided the valuable information about the origin of Annamacharya Sankeerthanas revival in the 20th century, and the people involved in bringing the Sankeerthanas to light in the mid 20th century. The participants of the Gosti recited the Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya and Satya Duvvuri narrated the the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. This spiritual event accommodated a detailed discussion and emphasized the value and importance of reciting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. By the nature of this event, only a few Sankeerthanas were recited in a span of 3 hours to accommodate for the detailed discussion on the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam. Prasadam was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalam.

This event was sponsored by the interested participant group of residents in Torrance and Irvine who were keen to learn more about the Sankeerthanas in a casual set up so that each of them could freely participate in the discussions. Also they wanted to give their children an exposure to the Annamacharya Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi began at 6pm with the chanting of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” for seven times followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeya” on Annamacharya. Satya Duvvuri, president of the organization, presented a discourse on Annamacharya and his works for about 30 minutes. The participants including the children recited about fifteen Sankeerthanas of Annamacharya. Satya Duvvuri narrated the the meaning, the context, and the significance of each Sankeerthana. He responded to questions from the participants that helped them learn more about the Sankeerthanas. The Gosthi concluded with the recital of Managalam at 8pm. Balakrishna Prasad will be released first time for the devotees in US.Prasadam2005-Nov-11-Sankirtana Yajnam 2005 of Sri Tallapaka AnnamacharyaA Sankirtana Yajnam was performed in the premises of SVASA on 11 November 2005 from 7am to 3pm. One Hundred eight (108) Sankirtanas of Annamacharya were sung by a single devotee. Other devotees accompanied in some of the Sankirtanas. The Yajnam began at 7am with the chanting of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” for seven times followed by the Gurudeva Prarthana “Sri Mathvadeeya” on Annamacharya. Then four Sakirthanas on Annamcharya were sung before singing the 108 Sankirthanas of Annamacharya. The Yajnam concluded with Managala Harathi and Naivedyam at 3:15pm. Thereafter, Prasadam was served to the devotees.
